Tämäkin elokuun tekeleitä =) Pikkuneiti Emilia täytti jo 3-vuotta!

Sirin synttärikakku / Siri's Birthday Cake
Elokuun loppupuolella sain ilokseni tehdä kakun Oulussa järjestettävien Ilmakitaran Maailmanmestaruuskisojen tuotantokoordinaattorin synttäreiden kunniaksi. Työkaverit halusivat yllättää synttärisankarin tyttömäisellä ja 50-luvun henkisellä kakulla, jossa olisi myös tapahtuman logo jossakin päin kakkua. Maalasin logon vapaalla kädellä pastavärejä käyttäen.

In English: Every year there is an event in Oulu called Air Guitar World Championships. You might have heard about it? I had the pleasure of making a cake for the event's production coordinator called Siri. Her coworkers wanted to surprise her with a girly fifties style cake with the events logo added somewhere on the cake. I painted the logo free hand with paste colors. Here's also a link to the events Facebook page where you can see a picture of the cake with the birthday girl!

40-vuotiskakku ystäväporukalle / 40th Birthday cake for a group of friends
Tämänkin kakun olen tehnyt jo elokuun alussa, mutta kuvat on vaan jääneet lisäämättä blogiin. Neljän hengen ystäväporukka vietti siis yhteisiä nelikymppisiä ja aiheena oli jokaisen elämän hyvin erilainen polku, joka on kaikilla kuitenkin tuonut heidät lopulta Ouluun. Kakun joka sivulla on yhden synttärisankarin kaupungit siinä järjestyksessä kuin he ovat niissä asuneet.
In English: Made this cake in early August but the pictures just haven't made it to the blog. Shame on me! The cake was for a group of 4 friends who all turned 40 and had a joint party.

Sunnuntain ravintolapäivä / Restaurant day
Tänä vuonna otan osaa ravintolapäivään ensimmäistä kertaa. Yksin en hommaan lähtenyt vaan työni kautta järjestämme Monikulttuurikeskus Villa Victorissa (Heinäpäässä, Kirkkokatu 54) nyt sunnuntaina 18.8. klo 11 - 17 Värikäs Ravintolan.
Osallistujia on 11 eri maasta ja menut koostuvat herkuista Sudanista, Intiasta, Suomesta, Vietnamista, Irakista, Somaliasta, Marokosta, Syyriasta, Tansaniasta, Etelä-Afrikasta ja Thaimaasta. Tunnelmaa luovat myös ohjelmanumerot maailmalta.
Minä olen paikalla myymässä makeita herkkuja (yllätys yllätys :D). Mukana ainakin sitruunakuppikakkuja kuumamarenkikuorrutteella, mehevää suklaakakkua jne. jne.
Tervetuloa mukaan nauttimaan ravintolan antimista ja värikkäästä tunnelmasta! Tulkaa nykäisemään hihasta jos paikalle pääsette!
In English: This year I decided to take part in Restaurant day for the first time. Restaurant Day is a food carnival where anyone can open a restaurant for a day.
We are opening Colourful Restaurant at Multicultural Centre Villa Victor (Heinäpää, Kirkkokatu 54) on Sunday 18.8. from 11 am to 5 pm. There are eleven different countries participating and the menus look delicious! I'll be there selling some sweet treats (what a surprise :D)
